My friend's birthday dinner

May 26 2012
I got invited to a family friend's house that I've known since 4? (I think. Don't remember)

Because it was his birthday!! Yayy~

Houses in tokyo is usually pretty small but I think this area is pretty high class.

Found a lizard!

This was one of the most tastiest home made dinner I had in Japan.

Hooray to my friend and his dad for their b-day!

A Geisha Experience

On May 25th 2012
I got to experience dressing like a Geisha!

I've been taking this course called Geisha in Keio and as part of that class few girls can have the experience dressing up as a Geisha.

I was lucky to be one of that girl.

The above picture is taken by photographer who was there.
Credits to Okuyama Haruhi.

First step I got my hair done from a professional who has been doing this job for more than 40 years.

You put in fake hair you see in this picture to make some bumps.

I made three bumps! This is a traditional hair style for maiko.

I then moved to a tea house in Asakusa where other people were already dressing up.

Food food food...! #5

Food! Ah~ the food I ate after school or after work was always my favourite time of the day.
Above is the food I ate at a  restaurant called "Tamachi" in Tamachi.

Beef and tofu.

Mackerel

Oyster mushrooms?

We started a special drinking game of water and japanese sake.

Few of these were pure japanese sake which is just like taking shots.

Got totally drunk off of this. I hope to not play this game again.

Solar eclipse

On May 21st I saw my first ever solar eclipse in Tokyo.

I took these pictures with the help of this↓

These are special sunglasses our resident assistant lent us to look at the sun.
It was one of the most exciting picture moments I had in Japan.

Everything went by pretty fast and because it was pretty cloudy outside the sun appeared and disappeared.

The ring was very mysterious and magical.

We had many foreign exchange students outside our res looking at the sun (I believe this was early in the morning)

My grandma in Tokyo!

My Grandma came all the way from Osaka to visit me in Tokyo.
She's actually been to many places in Tokyo so I had to take to her to non-touristy places.

We went to a famous valley near my house.
It's called Todoroki Keikoku. And within the residential houses it's a nice place to have a touch with the nature.

My grandma!

Water coming out of the dragon's mouth.

My grandma can walk a lot more than me.

Dried salmon in front of the restaurant. Cools!

We then went out for dinner at a western cuisine restaurant.

Breakfast my mom grandma prepared.

We went to Kamakura/Enoshima the next day.
We first went to Enoshima.

Hair Salon haha

Many antique and cute shops along the way.

Enoshima is an island in the ocean so there are many fresh seafood.

Lots and lots of nature on this island.
