Bonding with friends

Somewhere at the end of March.

Drinking
after the zemi
or
after we do some group work at the school
is now my routine.

My money flies but the bonding time I get at these places are priceless.

Because where Keio is located is a business / school area, there are many many restaurants around the area.

This was a really good hot pot :)

Since there were 5 ppl eating at once we had to do rock paper scissors.
I lost once and all I got was the lettuce on the side :(

Hot pot!!

Meat skewers. A must at these type of restaurants.

Most of the restaurants are located on this keio street.
(Major construction at this time)

-------

What I've noticed is that a lot of students drink coffee in cans and now energy drinks in cans.
I don't think energy drink was this popular in Japan until recently.
Red bull is the new "fad" in Japan.

------

My favorite Sakurai Sho from arashi. Every single time I see his face somewhere on an ad I have to take a picture!

----

I also went to a zemi official drinking party.
The people who were at this party were the 2013 graduates of our zemi.
We wanted to bond more before the younger students came into our zemi and because our senpais just graduated from our zemi.

The room came with a karaoke. Free singing for 2 hours? Horraaay!

Roppongi Art Night

March 24-25 2012

A night out in Roppongi.
Roppongi Art Night is somewhat like Nuit Blanche in Toronto where there are various art events ran through the whole night.
As you can see from the above poster the core time this event is held is 5:56 pm- 5:38 am

I met up with a friend who is also interested in art and we ate some good curry before we went out walking around roppongi.
My curry was 10 year beef stew. Don't remember what was so 10 years about it but it was really good!

This is pork cutlet with curry that my friends ate.

We then met up with more friends and walked around the area.
There was a DJ playing music and people watched artists dance and perform.

Below is the video of this scene.

I really can't stand her art sometimes because it makes me very itchy. I do think its interesting though.

The scene from above.

A long day in Yokohama

March 21, 2012

I met a friend who came to visit me all the way from Osaka.

And we spent a whole day in Yokohama!

Yokohama is a huge port. So this is ocean not a huge lake what we see in Toronto.

And we walked to the red brick storage house.

This looks likes a normal storage house from the outside but its a very nice shopping mall.

Goodbye parties!

March 12 2012

This is me cooking some meat and veggies for my friends and senpai (older ppl).
The month of March is filled with good byes because how in western countries a school year starts in September and ends in June/July, Japanese school year starts in April and ends in March.
Many of my senpais were going to graduate from school and move on in their career (Both undergraduate and masters).
And as for the left ones we are supposed to congratulate them by holding many parties.

This is the good bye/thank you party for my zemi.

Everyone brought some homemade food.

This was probably one of the tastiest lasagna I've ever had.

This is the food I made. Tomato/basil/garlic on baguette.

Don't know why but we like to slap each other in the back.

There were also graduation movies played at the party.
The senpais also had speeches for us to hear. Some people were in tears.

There were gift giving and card giving as well.
This is the card our teacher got from the graduating students.

Some time in mid-March.

My mom visited me in Japan to feed me :D
Well we actually went around Thai together in the beginning of March but after the Thai trip she came all the way to Tokyo (She usually stays in Osaka) to say hi and check if my room was clean.

------

I also started another part time job at a publishing company.
It's really a great opportunity and a really fun job.

This is the school right beside my working place.

My mom bought me anything I wanted to eat (hmm let's see why I gained back so much of my weight?)
from shrimp tempura rice balls to

my favourite dessert pudding :)

We also visited a very nice restaurant in shibuya as well.
Below is the website for the place.
