Ghibli Museum

My friend and I finally decided to go to the Ghibli Museum.

For all of you who do not know Ghibli,
it is a film and animation studio in Japan and have produced works such as

Totoro, Castle in the sky, Princess mononoke, Spirited away, and Nausciaa.

The production has so many fans in Japan and around the world, the museum is always full and you have to reserve the tickets at least one day before.

It was always not my dream but I always wanted to go here and I finally got the chance to!

We got off at Mitaka station. Even the signs are already Ghibli!

The entrance.

Many of Ghibli's work has a very european look so I guess the buildings look more western than Japanese.

Ghibli Museum.

And from here we can't take pictures inside.
What they have inside is some pictures of their work, puppets, ghibli giftstore, storyboards, and many things to do with animation.

This is the garden of the building.

Even the water fountain is kind of cool.

We then go up these stairs.

Until we reach the big robot from Castle in the sky!

This robot was made really well and I say it was around 6-7m tall.

The arm/wing.

From the back.

And from the front with the moon.

Flag.

The view from above.

There's also another outdoor place you can hangout.

An old-fashioned water pump.

Makurokurosuke looking at us.

Just a nice house that we can't go in.

The wall with all the viens.

There's also a Ghibli cafe that is some what overpriced but has a very nice feeling to it.

The ghibli store is probably the place we stayed the longest because it was filled with stuffed animals and  was character goods overload. It's really hard to explain the goodness of this place because I really can't post any pictures but if you love Ghibli movies or likes fantasy this is the place to be.

If you come to Tokyo you have to go take a look :D

On our way back to the station.
If you have 3 hours in the museum I think it's enough.

And so the journey back to childhood had ended..
